Fine art photography magazine Adoir NoirFor the photographer interested in producing and selling fine art photography, the spring of 2011 saw the launch of a highly anticipated web-based fine art photography magazine called “Adore Noir”, a PDF-based magazine dedicated to the celebration of fine art black and white photography.

The magazine can best be described as “An amalgamation of classic and modern styles with everything in between.”

Adore Noir magazine was created out of necessity to fill a much-needed niche, and to provide a stage on which to showcase the works of amazing artists that may have otherwise gone unnoticed.

As a photographer myself, I know how frustrating breaking out can be, and the magazine’s aim is to help alleviate that problem…

Adore Noir magazine is published bi-monthly, and features the work of six photographers in each issue. The featured artists get an astounding twelve pages showcasing their work, together with an in-depth Q&A interview.

There are also interviews with prominent figures in the art world, such as gallery owner Susan Spiritus, who is featured in issue #2. And if that weren’t enough, each issue also features intriguing articles with topics such as “Art vs. Science” or “The Age of Narcissism – the explosion of the [simulated] self-portrait on Instagram”, to name a few.

Why Adore Noir For A Fine Art Photography Magazine?

So how did I come up with the title of the magazine?

It must have been around 1997, and I was watching a music video of the Smashing Pumpkins, titled “Ava Adore” at the same time as I was getting ready to go out, and I happened to reach for my Drakkar Noir cologne.

I put the two ideas together and thought Adore Noir would be a cool name for a rock band. As it turns out, it’s an even better name for a black and white photography fine art photography magazine.

Adore Noir has played an integral role in not only being an inspiration to photographers and artists in general, but also in providing a link between photographers and gallery owners.

“Ghost City” by Chris Kovacs is part of a new abstract photography series…

In fact, one of the most rewarding things about being involved with artists and gallerists is the feedback I get from both.

I’ve had numerous gallerists thank me for introducing them to an artist that they wouldn’t have known about if it weren’t for Adore Noir magazine. This is a major compliment to say the least.

Upcoming And Back Issues

I’m currently working on the thirteenth issue of Adore Noir, set for a launch date of April 1st 2013.

All the back issues can be found on the magazine’s website for only $2.95 per issue, and there are also back issues available in different bundles.

To get a taste of what this great fine art photography magazine has to offer, pick yourself up a free download of Issue 11.
