Agreed.
This person may be well intentioned, but I am just about sick of the number of people selling their wares and writing reviews that are positive for their sponsors --

Look at podcasts as well. Some names are Scott Bourne, Scott Kelby, but there are many others who barely ever shoot (unless someone is taking a picture of them shooting...) who are all over the place.

They had good intentions to start with, but now it seems they are all just ads for their sponsors. More like a disc jockey of slogans rather than impartial advice at this point.

I am actually not affiliated or associated in any way with Photovision. I certainly don't have any personal investment in the sale of the DVDs. As a professional photographer, I do find Photovision to be a very useful addition to my library of resources. Do I like everything they put on there? No, of course not, but overall I think it is a good product and thought I would share that here. The review is a genuine one, from someone (me) who actually uses it.

Of course, I'd love to know how objective this review is. I'd love to know who you are, and if you have any personal investment in the sale of the DVDs. Seeding the Web with positive reviews for your own product is nothing new.

Thank you for writing this! I got a flier in the mail for photovision 2009 and I want to try it but I didn't know if it would be worth it or not. I'm an amateur, working toward professionalism and love to absorb every bit of learning I can. Thanks.
